Cook thy enemy

Mainstream Media are finally catching up on the Active Denial System (ADS), the “heat ray”, as it is often called.

This supposedly “non-lethal” weapon is praised for its versatility because it can be used not only in combat situations, but also to disperse peaceful demonstrators without much harm done to the people (provided they do what the army wants them to do when subjected to the ADS: run).

Basically, when you’re targeted you will feel intense burning sensation, as though you skin is about to catch on fire. The idea is that you will run the hell out out of sight.

Journalists subjected themselves to this weapon (short burst) and are raving: this really works, very painful, etc.

One journalist, that I heard or read, asked this question:

Do you use it to torture people? Answer: we do not torture people. The journalist did not follow up with an obvious question: But you do provide this weapon to other countries as a tool to torture people on your behalf?

Not one journalist, that I read or heard, asked this question:

How many animals were murdered and tortured to develop this weapon?
